One of the big key topics in Kate’s book is sugar.
Sugar comes with so many misconceptions. Some people think sugar is poison, that it causes cancer, creates inflammation, and more. And I used to think the same thing; I wouldn’t even eat fruit because I was so brainwashed into thinking sugar was bad for me, but I didn’t understand why.
So, in this episode, Kate and I get to the bottom of it all. We chat about:
➡️The most common misconceptions about sugar
➡️What sugar is
➡️When it becomes a problem
➡️Nutrient-dense forms of sugar
➡️The sugar and cancer belief
➡️The truth about fructose
➡️Why context matters
➡️Diabetes, sugar, and stress
➡️Why removing nutrient dense sugars comes with a cost
➡️Does sugar deplete the body of nutrients?
➡️How to re-introduce sugar ...
A lot of women in our program have families and partners. And oftentimes, their partners are sceptical. They’ve seen their wives cycle through so many diets and programs over the years, and so it’s easy to assume that this is just another fad diet which they will give up after a few months or that will get them results but not be sustainable. Yet, this couldn’t be the farthest thing from the truth!
So, I decided to sit down with one of these women’s partners. Mick is Lynn Saunders’ husband (Lynn has done amazingly well in our program). He’s seen her go through various diets (at least one a year for 30 years!), so he has heaps of insight into what it’s been like through all of the ups and downs.
In this episode, Mick and I chat about:
➡️What it was like watching his wife go through all these different diets
➡️What he thought when she first started the WinAtLife program
➡️What changes he’s noticed in her since she’s joined the program
➡️The impact the progr...
The amazing Jess Ash is back on the podcast. If you don’t already follow her, go give her a follow on instagram. She is just a wealth of knowledge, she articulates everything so well.
I wanted to get Jess back on the podcast to talk about the emotional side of things and how this pro-metabolic lifestyle is more than just training and nutrition.
In this episode, Jess and I chat about:
➡️How and why focusing on just your appearance doesn’t usually work
➡️Accepting yourself as you are while trying to change things
➡️Why so many women end up with metabolic issues
➡️How this process takes time (not 12 weeks)
➡️Why a quick approach doesn’t work
➡️How food tracking plays such a crucial role
➡️The learning process with pro-metabolic eating
➡️Dealing with chronic emotional stress
➡️Green vegetables and digestibility
➡️Why pro-metabolic eating isn’t a 'diet'
Jess also has a new course coming out which she talks about in this episo...
A common thing I see with women when they join our programs is that they come in and they have all the tools, education and support they need but then they self-sabotage. It’s not that they don’t know what to do or they don’t have the support they need. It’s just for whatever reason, they just don’t do it. So, I wanted to have Carol on the podcast to talk about how our beliefs can sabotage our behaviour, and what you can do about it.
Carol is actually a client of ours, and she’s become a friend. She contributes a lot to our community and is a psychotherapist, so she knows a lot about this topic.
In this episode, Carol and I talk about:
➡️How self-sabotage manifests
➡️How the stories you tell yourself can either help you blossom or hold you back
➡️Ways women self-sabotage
➡️How to develop a tolerance for uncomfortable emotions
➡️Where these s...
I get so many questions from clients about cholesterol, and I hear so many stories about people’s doctors trying to prescribe them a statin. We’re taught that cholesterol is bad and it should be feared, but what’s really going on? Josh and I dig into all of this.
In this episode, Josh and I chat about:
➡️What does cholesterol do in the body
➡️When does cholesterol become a problem
➡️How everything stems from chronic stress
➡️Why high levels of cholesterol aren’t necessarily a bad thing
➡️What causes chronic stress
➡️What else impacts cholesterol levels in the body
➡️How you get high cholesterol
➡️How copper and cholesterol are associated
➡️Good sources of copper
➡️Long-term side effects of taking statins

So, Craig — my partner and the other half of WinAtLife — sat down to talk about all of this. In this episode, Craig and I chat about:
➡️How habits and routines make reaching your goals easier
➡️Why these are the basic fundamentals
➡️How once you establish them, they become second-nature
➡️How you can use them to improve and grow
➡️The most important habits and routines you should have
➡️Why discipline is freedom
➡️How it’s about being consistent, not perfect
Happy listening I hope you find this podcast helpful and don't forget to take a screenshot of the episode and share it on Instagram stories and tag me at @kittyblomfield. Each month I choose someone who has shared and th...
Like many women, Emma tried every diet under the sun, spending money on anything and everything. She’s done shake diets, fasting, 1000-calorie diets, and more. Emma says none of it worked for very long and she didn’t particularly enjoy any of it. I’m sure many women can relate to Emma’s stories!
In this episode, Emma and I talk about:
➡️Her past history with dieting
➡️Why she chose WinAtLife (Hint: Eating carbs and sugar again was a big part of it!)
➡️How she’s lost 17.5 kgs eating 2150 calories per day while eating lots of delicious food (including chocolate)
➡️What she’s enjoyed most about the program
➡️How she does it all with two kids and her partner
