#341 - At 49, She Built Muscle, Dropped 8.5% Body Fat & Came Off Her Thyroid Meds with Amanda Lenhart

She was 49, freezing all the time, gaining weight, and feeling totally defeated.

After trying everything from keto and veganism to hormone clinics and Weight Watchers Amanda was told her body was just getting older… and was prescribed thyroid meds and testosterone pellets.

But nothing changed.

She didn’t feel better. She didn’t lose weight.

She just felt stuck.

Then she found us through one of Dan Markham’s posts (@cowseatgrass) and a podcast I’d done.

She followed the breadcrumbs and landed in our world.

She was drawn to the strength training, the metabolic focus, and the no-BS approach to food.

And she was ready for something real.

Fast forward 9 months later… and here’s what’s happened 👇

– She dropped 8.5% body fat

– Gained visible muscle and definition

– Went from 28% to 19.5% body fat

– Came off thyroid medication completely

– Eliminated dense, fibrotic breast tissue (no longer flagged as high risk)

– Is training just 3x/week for 45 minutes

– Eats more food than ever including sugar, salt, dairy, sourdough, and ice cream

– Feels confident, energised, and STRONG at 50

She didn’t do it with HIIT classes, restriction, or hormone patches.

She did it by focusing on food quality, smart strength training, and learning to fuel her body instead of punishing it.

And she’s not just leaner, she’s healthier.

Her body works for her now.
