I am a 51-year-old woman suffering from menopausal weight gain (and night sweats), and I joined the October 2020 Break Free Challenge initially to lose weight. I opted for the additional "custom training program" and expected something similar to other "training programs" I have purchased in the past. Right from the start, I could tell that this was very different from anything I've seen before. There is a questionnaire that you fill out that asks what equipment you have, whether or not you have a home gym or will be using a commercial gym and that's what they base your program on. There are extensive "how-to" videos on all the different exercises, including warm-ups and recovery. You get access to an online workout app that lays out your reps and sets for every workout for the full four weeks. It keeps track of your previous workouts and encourages progression for each workout. You also get access to the training coaches via a private personal Slack channel where you can upload a video of yourself doing the exercise and they will give you feedback. The feedback has been a game-changer for me —I've lifted weights on and off for years but have never had this level of coaching or understanding of how to execute each exercise. I just love the training program and because of how well it is presented and the personalized coaching I decided to join full time. I love the nutrition program as well, but the training section is the reason I decided to join the full program. If you like lifting but you've struggled with how to gain strength and "what to do" then this is the program for you —there is just so much genuine caring support.
I just love love love the training programme! For me there is nothing better than competing against yourself ... Learning to become strong and lift well not only makes changes on the outside but on the inside as well. I love the compound lifts. Your bench press, deadlift and my love hate relationship with squats...you get bang for your buck! Kitty and especially Craig have created amazing, and easy to follow programmes. They can be changed to suit your needs, ability, training time and if you have injuries... I'll be WAL training for life!!
I joined Kitty WAL training program because I wanted to get stronger and build muscle, and reduce my body fat but I had no idea how to and I didn't know anyone that could help me achieve this. The WAL program has given me guided weights program that details the effort, repetition, and sets needed to improve each week. The program is changed at the completion of each program (around a month). The weights program can be adjusted to suit your ability and available equipment. You also get high-quality video tutorials that you can watch to show you the technique of each exercise and a weekly virtual couch check-in. This coaching has been pivotal in helping me to adjust my technique. When doing my workout I take a quick video and forward to my coach for feedback. This form of two-way virtual coms has been so helpful. I can ask other questions about the training as I go too. I started in July 2020, in the midst of COVID lockdown so this program has kept me motivated, focused and I'm loving it. I wasn't sure about a virtual program but this certainly program certainly is better than just videos you workout alongside. It's what you make of it of course. But it's all there to teach you new habits and there's even a nutritional aide to the program that is amazing too! I've been getting great results with this program.
